May 2024

Your role:

In his role as Occupational Therapy Assistant, Lewis works alongside our Multi-Disciplinary Team to help the people we support develop the skills they need to lead their best life and to live as independently as possible.

Lewis holds a BSc (Hons)  in Psychology from the Open University.

Before joining Gray Healthcare:

Lewis’ first job on leaving school was as a Support Worker in a residential home for people with Learning Disabilities and older adults.  His mother is a nurse so he has always had an association with healthcare as well as always being interested in psychology and its application across all walks of life.  He applied to the Open University and completed his BSc (Hons) in Psychology whilst working as a Support Worker in a supported living setting for adults with mental health conditions. He completed his degree course in the same year as lockdown for COVID-19.  To help out he worked as an COVID-19 tester with the NHS.    Post COVID-19, he worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with his local council before moving to Gray Healthcare.

What do you like about working at Gray Healthcare?

‘The team – everyone is positive, friendly and very knowledgeable and share a great work ethic.  The quality of the in-house training is impressive.  I am very much looking forward to working with the team and growing with them.’
