About Kelly Bushill

When did you start working for Gray Healthcare?

September 2021

Your role:

As Operations Manager, Kelly’s role is to make sure that all our packages of support are compliant.  She coaches and supports our line managers as well as ensuring we maintain good relationships with family members and commissioners and referrers.

Before joining Gray Healthcare:

On leaving school, Kelly went to college to study health and social care.  Having seen a family member struggle with a mental illness she wanted to help others in the same situation. Whilst studying, she worked part-time in hospitality and took a hospitality role full-time immediately post qualification.  As she wanted to work with people with Learning Disabilities and behaviours perceived to be challenging she moved to a Support Worker role in a residential setting working with adults with multiple disabilities, both physical and mental, and was promoted to Registered Manager for this service.  She moved to take up a Registered Manager position for  a residential service for young adults with mental health difficulties and learning disabilities. She has also worked with young offenders.

What do you like about working at Gray Healthcare?

‘The biggest thing for me is that you can genuinely see the positive impact that we have on the people we support.  I love that are able to help people move from secure settings into the community where they can live their life the way they choose.  The support we provide is incredibly person-centred and we know from our statistics just how well people have done with our support.  For me I also enjoy supporting the wider team and to making a difference to their lives too.’
