Community Support Manager, Jo McGarva, is excited about attending the national finals of the Great British Care Awards in March 2023. Jo was announced as the winner for the ‘Frontline Leader’ Award at the East Midlands regional heat in October 2022 and will now be attending the prestigious national finals at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham on 17 March 2023.
The Great British Care Awards pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated excellence within their field of work. Each year the organisers receive nominations from individuals working across the social care sector, for 21 different award categories and, following interviews with the shortlisted nominees, a panel of sector experts selects a regional winner for each category. The winners of the regional awards are then invited to the national finals.
The ‘Frontline Leader’ Award is given to an individual who has shown ‘clear commitment to improving the delivery of care and support within their team’. The judges said that: ‘Joanne’s enthusiasm, passion and commitment to her role could be heard through her voice as she spoke, she is an asset to her company and the care sector alike’.
Jo was nominated by Kelly Bushill, Area Manager at Gray Healthcare, who will also be attending the awards ceremony in March. Kelly said: ‘Jo is an exemplary manager. She is approachable, consistent, supportive, knowledgeable and a fantastic communicator. She simply radiates positivity. I’m so thrilled that she has been recognised with this award – she absolutely deserves it!’
