Gray Healthcare, was celebrating today, following the announcement that they had been shortlisted for not one, but two prestigious awards at this year’s (2024) LaingBuisson Awards.  The winners will be announced on Thursday 21st November 2024 at the awards ceremony at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London.

LaingBuisson Awards, now in their 19th year, recognise and celebrate excellence in the UK’s health and social care sectors and entries are welcomed from public, private and third sector businesses that set new standards in their industries.  The awards are judged independently and objectively by a panel of judges with industry knowledge and category-specific skill sets to assess each entry.

Gray Healthcare has been shortlisted as a finalist in two award categories.  The ‘Best in Healthcare Outcomes’ category recognises excellence in delivery of better healthcare outcomes whilst the ‘Excellence in Specialist Care’ recognises excellence in care for adults with physical or learning disabilities or mental health conditions in a residential setting.

As a national provider of support for individuals with complex needs, Gray Healthcare supports people to move out of hospitals and other long-stay environments and into a home of their own.  Their framework is clinically-informed and embedded with trauma-informed principles, which means that they can provide ongoing clinical support in a home setting, close to family and friends.  Their model of support looks at reducing support hours in a phased, safe way to help the people they support become more self-sufficient with the potential to pass on cost savings to the NHS.   Their data demonstrates that within two years of receiving support, a third of the people they support require less support now.

Neil Berrington, Clinical Director at Gray Healthcare, comments:

‘We are delighted to have been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s LaingBuisson awards.  We believe our service offers an alternative to traditional ways of delivering support to people with complex needs in the community.  We are a step-down from mental health hospital settings, but with our offering of clinical support within a home setting, a step-up from domiciliary and residential care.   By delivering support that is completely tailored around the individual, we are not only seeing some fantastic outcomes for the people we support in terms of their independence, but we are starting to realise the potential our approach has in terms of future cost savings to the NHS. We are looking forward to attending the awards ceremony later this year.’
