Gray Healthcare held their first ‘Value Awards’ Ceremony on 29 April 2022 in Liverpool. Over the past few months, colleagues have been invited to nominate other colleagues who, in their opinion, have gone ‘above and beyond’ in demonstrating one or more of our company core values: we are inspiring, we collaborate, we are unique, we innovate, we are honest and transparent.
The individual awards were presented by our CEO, Julian Ball. So without further ado our 2022 winners are:
Lesley Horsley, Team Leader
‘Lesley inspires me – namely her diligence and hardworking approach. Lesley goes above and beyond to make sure everything is in order. If we have any issues, Lesley makes sure the issues are sorted one way or another. Lesley inspires all the team to try different things, if that doesn’t work we try something else. Lesley is fantastic in getting the staff and the person we support to achieve positive results and she is very open with all staff promoting honesty and transparency.’
Rebecca Shakespeare, Support Worker
‘Rebecca is professional and detailed and I can rely on her to explain certain situations so that I can become more competent. Rebecca always makes sure appointments and reviews are up-to-date. I struggle with technology and Rebecca always comes up with ways to make it easier for me to fill things out on the iPad. When the person we support appears upset, Rebecca helps her to feel heard and understood. She also asked staff if there was anything she could do to support them during lockdown. She is also a very good listener.’
Laura Fleming, Team Leader
‘Thank you so much for taking such good care of the person you and your team support in Cumbria and ensuring he had the support he needed while he was in hospital. It was clear that your kindness and thoughtfulness really helped him at a difficult and frightening time. You really are a credit to us. Your kind, caring and calm approach is so evident in everything you do. Your natural qualities shine through and we are lucky to have you in Gray Healthcare. It is the small things that make such a huge difference to the lives of the people we support, and you never fail to deliver.’
Caitlin Richardson, Business Development Support
‘Caitlin has demonstrated innovation – she created a QR code for the Business Development team and wider teams to use in order to distribute our brochure. This means we can now send the QR code out to Commissioners/Social Workers/Case Managers and save on printing and postage costs for the company plus save paper to help our green agenda!’
Lorraine Pendleton, Office Co-ordinator
‘Lorraine worked tirelessly to ensure that all of our IT equipment was sourced and configured – I am really grateful for her hard work and diligence. Lorraine is also a huge support to the Clinical Team when it comes to ensuring all equipment is in place and that our medication systems and processes are safe. Thank you Lorraine for always going the extra mile.’
