Our Story As A Complex Care Provider
Our story began in 2007, marking our beginnings as a complex care provider. At this time, we started to question why so many people with mental health conditions and other complex needs were ‘living’ in hospitals away from their families potentially without alternative accommodation and support options being considered.
It appeared to us that providers of community services were either unable or reluctant to support individuals in their own homes and when attempts were made to move people out of hospitals, the result was a succession of failed placements and regular re-admissions.
We started to consider whether it would be possible to provide a high quality mental health hospital rehabilitation service for individuals within a home setting. We developed our own clinically-informed framework that enables people across the UK with a variety of complex needs to live a life that is meaningful to them.
In 2012, the UK Government, in response to Winterbourne View, set out its plan to transform the care of Autistic people and people with learning disabilities. The Transforming Care report (2012) set out clear, timetabled actions for health and local authority commissioners to work together to move people out of hospitals back to their own communities with the right support. By this time, we were already successfully supporting individuals within their own homes in a community of their choice using our clinically-informed framework, and demonstrating fantastic outcomes we were achieving.
We have stayed true to our clinical approach, and by not sacrificing on quality and standards we believe we have gained a reputation as a reliable complex care provider focussing on homes not hospitals (Building the Right Support, 2015).
Our CQC Registration
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a national provider of community based mental health and learning disability services for adults of working age.
This enables us to offer specialist, personalised care and treatment to individuals in their own homes. Being inspected through the CQC hospital directorate rather than the social care directorate means our services are clinically governed and enables us to deliver high quality support packages.
Our hospital directorate registration also means that we are subject to the same level of scrutiny as a hospital setting.

Vision and Values
We believe that people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, brain injuries and Autistic people are more likely to improve within the setting of their own home. Our approach as a complex care provider involves detailed assessment, planning and intervention to provide specialist support to each individual. With regular and collaborative review and evaluation, we ensure that all support provided is effective in helping the person achieve their goals.
This philosophy enables us to assist people with complex needs to be supported in a sustainable manner using the least restrictive approach. Since 2007, we have achieved remarkable outcomes for the people we support, helping them feel safe, protected and independent, often beyond their own or their families’ expectations.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide us in how we support people, make decisions and work cohesively as an integrated team to deliver exceptional support.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
We are committed to promoting diversity amongst our employees and the people we support. We have learnt that the more we understand the people we support, their needs and challenges, the more we can enable them to live their best lives.
Our colleagues should feel as safe, supported, and as heard as the people we support. No-one should feel unable to be their best, full authentic self or discriminated against for any reason. Our goal is to create a safe environment where people from different cultures, backgrounds and experiences can feel a genuine sense of belonging and feel able to contribute fully.
Our journey towards greater diversity and inclusivity is ongoing. We are actively working to ensure our workplace mirrors the diverse communities we serve, reinforcing our roles as a responsible and inclusive complex care provider.
