The team at Gray Healthcare were delighted to welcome Paula Barker, MP for Liverpool Wavertree to their central support offices today (16th May 2024). Ms Barker visited along with some of her parliamentary colleagues to learn more about the company’s work and the successful outcomes being achieved for people with complex needs both locally and nationally.
During the visit, the MP and her colleagues met members of the Gray Healthcare team and joined new staff members in a training exercise on PROACT-SCIPr-UK ®, a British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) accredited approach using proactive strategies to support individuals with complex needs. This approach, delivered by the company’s own clinical team, forms the cornerstone of Gray Healthcare’s extensive induction and training programme. There was also the opportunity to meet one of the gentlemen currently supported by Gray Healthcare and to hear first-hand about his experience of Gray Healthcare.
Neil Berrington, Clinical Director says: ‘We are immensely proud of the work we do at Gray Healthcare, and it was fantastic to have the opportunity to meet with Paula and her colleagues today and showcase our clinical approach to community support. Our team are genuinely passionate about delivering the best support we can to the people we support and to each other. We are thrilled that Paula has entered our nomination for this year’s NHS Parliamentary Award for Excellence in Mental Health Care.’
Paula Barker, MP Liverpool Wavertree says: “It was a pleasure to see the work Gray Healthcare do in support of those who experience mental ill health and neuro-divergence. Their specialist and holistic provision to those with such conditions allows people to achieve their independence with successful rehabilitations based on ongoing wrap-around support. I saw firsthand how their dedication to their staff and the service they provide places human dignity at the front and centre of their operation. I am very happy to have organisations like Gray Healthcare in my constituency who serve people over a wide geographic footprint.”
